How Orbit stores and synchronizes your information
Cloud & Sync Notice
Effective date: November 4, 2026
Orbit is a cloud-based service. This notice explains, in plain language, what that means for users. It supplements the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service; it is not a separate contract.
1. Why Orbit Uses the Cloud
Cloud storage allows your Orbit account and data to remain available across supported sessions and devices, supports authentication, synchronization, backups and recovery capabilities provided by our infrastructure, and enables features such as Focus notifications.
2. What May Be Synchronized
- account and profile settings;
- tasks, lists, and planning information;
- habits and habit completions;
- focus-session records and notification state;
- reflections and day records;
- product settings and other information needed to provide the Service.
3. Authentication and Access
Your account is used to associate synchronized data with you. Orbit uses authorization controls intended to prevent one user from accessing another user's private data. Do not share your account credentials.
4. Offline and Cached Data
Supported Orbit clients may temporarily cache application resources or data needed for performance and offline-like experiences. Cached information may remain on a device until cleared by the app, browser, operating system, or user. On shared devices, sign out and use appropriate device security.
5. Notifications
If you enable push notifications, Orbit stores technical subscription information needed to route notifications. Focus notifications are designed to use generic content rather than displaying the text of your task, list, or reflection. A separate technical delivery log records account and notification identifiers, attempt time, result, response code where available, provider category, and whether the attempt was a test—not notification content, push addresses, or encryption keys. The browser or device selects the push service, such as Google/FCM, Apple, or Mozilla. Entries older than 30 days are removed by daily cleanup; successful in-app account deletion removes the account’s entries earlier. See the Privacy Policy for details and help completing deletion requests.
6. Deletion and Sync
Deleting an item or account may require synchronization before the change is reflected across all supported devices. Account deletion removes associated personal data that BAM Meridian is not legally required to retain, subject to limited backup and legal-retention periods described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Service Providers
Orbit relies on managed cloud infrastructure and application services. Our Privacy Policy identifies current categories and key providers and explains how service providers process information on our behalf.
